Grecian Island Restaurant was fair to good. The service was friendly, with no complaints. The best of the entrees was the Hummus Grecian Platter. The presentation, freshness of ingredients and flavor, was excellent. The Chicken Gyro was big in portions, yet underwhelming in flavor. It looked good, but simply did not deliver in taste. Perhaps it was due to the dull tzatziki sauce. Regardless, the experience was decent.

The Good: The service! Only had one waitress however she did a phenomenal job servicing a lunch-hour crowded restaurant very efficiently. If not for the service, my review would be a one star review.
The Bad: The food! This was the most bland and horribly tasting “Greek food” I’ve ever eaten. I had a simple chicken gyro platter with fries. The fries were severely overcooked. The gyro was bland with a very basic tzatziki sauce. I think the chicken was microwaved but uncertain. Terrible.

Five plus. The spanikopita was top notch, philo prrfectly baked and perfectly balanced spinach filling. The small salad included a scoop of fresh potato salad, incredible. As a Long Islander, I have dined at hundreds of greek based restaurants and this family owned lunch spot is one of the best. Fresh. Super kind server. A+.

Visited the restaurant for lunch, the only thing authentic was the music playing from the phone. Not the cleanest in appearance- peeling wall paper and dirty water-stained tiles. Having lived in Greece, there are certain flavors, dishes and seasonings that are specific to the cuisine. The Gyro (year-ro) bread tasted store bought, shoe-string fries (a step above burnt), chicken seemed pre-packaged and warmed up, and the Greek salad was nowhere near Greek. The waitress was very pleasant as well as the cashier. My guess is the reviews are from the locals that frequent the restaurant on a regular basis. Disappointed…😕
